It’s time to talk…

The “hospice” conversation.  It’s a conversation that doctors and patients alike often fear.

According to a recent study, most physicians often postpone the conversation, and the reluctancy to have end-of-life talks is well-documented.

Talking about options for end-of-life care in the earlier stages of a life-limiting illness affords the patient and family the opportunity to plan and be a family during life’s most important journey.

Have you had the “hospice” conversation with someone you love?   What advice would you give other patients and families?  What advice would you give phyicians?
