We Honor Veterans

Covenant Hospice has reached Partner Level 1 Status with the We Honor Veterans campaign!

We Honor Veterans is a campaign developed by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization with the Department of Veterans Affairs.  The campaign recognizes organizations that demonstrate a commitment to improving care for Veterans.

Covenant Hospice reached Level -1 Status by creating Veteran-specific educational material and presentations to staff, volunteers and the community. We also partnered with local organizations to collaboratively serve Veterans, and participated in community events such as the Emerald Coast Honor Flight and VA Stand Down serving homeless Veterans.  Covenant Hospice is the only Level – 1 Partner in Northwest Florida and South Alabama.

By recognizing the unique needs of our nations Veterans who are facing a life-limiting illness, Covenant Hospice is able to accompany and guide Veterans and their families toward a more peaceful ending.  And in cases there might be some specific needs related to the Veteran’s military service, combat experience or other traumatic events, Covenant Hospice will have the tools to help support those they are caring for.

If you are a Veteran or active duty military personnel and would like to learn about volunteering for Covenant Hospice please contact the branch office nearest you. Volunteers help Covenant honor patients who are veterans by presenting certificates and pins. This simple act has a profound impact on Veterans nearing the end of life.  For more information about We Honor Veterans, please visit www.wehonorveterans.org
