Honoring Heroes for Veteran’s Day

Friday, November 11, may be Veteran’s Day and the day most Americans pause to honor those who have so bravely served our country and helped to ensure our many freedoms, but we are celebrating Veteran’s Week here at Covenant Hospice!  This entire week, in honor of Veteran’s Day, Covenant Hospice staff and volunteers are hosting programs in each of our partnering nursing and assisted living facilities to ensure that every Veteran residing within them gets the recognition he or she deserves for their sacrifice to our country.

Each Veteran will receive a keepsake pin, a certificate, and be recognized in a program by Covenant staff, volunteers, and many active duty servicemen and women.  These programs are, hands down, my favorite events that Covenant hosts throughout the year!  To see the pride on the faces of these men and women as they are honored for their service is so joyful.

Is there a serviceman or woman in your family that you say “thank you” to on Veteran’s Day?  Tell us about them and their service to our country!
