Meet Covenant Hospice’s Newest Volunteers!

Here at Covenant Hospice, nothing is stagnant.  As we continue to grow and expand, serving more patients and families every day, our volunteer program must keep the pace.  We are constantly growing, constantly improving.  No two days are ever the same and someone is always coming up with new and inventive ideas and programs to organize and implement into the volunteer program.

To meet the growing needs of our patients and their families, Volunteer Services Managers in every branch are constantly beating the streets to recruit wonderful new Covenant Hospice volunteers.  In the Pensacola Branch, we offer a new volunteer training class each month.  In this training, new volunteers learn about the history and services of Covenant Hospice and their roles as volunteers.  They hear from a social worker and a hospice nurse and learn to effectively communicate with our patients and accurately document their volunteer time.  We believe the Volunteer Orientation and Training is essential for our volunteers to work with confidence and be knowledgeable about the organization.

Just last week, 16 new volunteers emerged from our community.  Ranging in age from teenagers to retirees, each one attended and participated in the training session and is excited to get started volunteering in their own areas of interest.  Some will be working directly with patients and family members, others have already gotten started helping out on fundraisers and special events.  Wherever they choose to volunteer, you can certainly bet that they will each be valued and appreciated as a part of the team, and the HEART of Covenant Hospice!

Want to learn more about Covenant Hospice’s Volunteer Orienation and Training Classes in your area?  We would love to have you join us and get started on the road to giving back to your community today!
